Love 2023 Forever Stamps 100pcs

In 2023, the USPS celebrated the 50th anniversary of its beloved Love stamp series with the release of two new Forever stamps on January 19, 2023, in Austin, Texas. These stamps feature endearing illustrations of a kitten and a puppy, each resting their front paws on a large red heart, with the word “LOVE” displayed in bold, white capital letters behind them.

The artwork was created by illustrator Chris Buzelli, who painted the images in oil on wood panels. The textures of the wood grain subtly enhance the warmth and depth of the illustrations. The paintings were then digitally scanned and refined for the final stamp design. Art director Ethel Kessler oversaw the design process.

The first-day-of-issue ceremony was held at Austin Pets Alive!, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, highlighting the theme of love for pets and the joy they bring into our lives.
