The stamp series features 20 different domestic animals, each captured in a photograph against a white background. The animals represented include:

These photographs were taken by Eric Isselée, known for his animal portraits, and the stamps were designed by USPS art director Derry Noyes. Noyes aimed to capture the essence of each animal, emphasizing their unique characteristics without the need for special effects.
