The 2022 U.S. Flag Forever Stamp Booklet was officially issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS) on January 9, 2022, in Findlay, Ohio, a city known as “Flag City, USA”.
The stamp artwork features a painting of three American flags arranged in a circular formation, reminiscent of the 50 flags encircling the Washington Monument. This design was created by illustrator Laura Stutzman, who used three separate photographs of the same flag taken seconds apart as references to compose the image. The low-angle perspective of the flags billowing in the wind evokes a sense of reverence and honor .
